Garden of the Grieving Mother Community Appeal - New Peter Corlett Sculpture Project

Last week a community appeal was launched to raise funds to erect a memorial to the grieving mothers and families who experienced the grief and deep anxiety that is the conseuqnce of war.
A launch event was held recently and was attended by one our Committee members, Mr John Salpigtidis. John has provided the information on the project.
The garden will be created adjacent to Ballarat's famous Arch of Victory and will feature a sculpture by Peter Corlett, OAM - the creator of the Lemnos Gallipoli Memorial.
The appeal is being laumched by the Arch of Victory/Avenue of Honour Committee. The project is supported by Ballarat City Council, its MP's and many in the local community. Lambis Englezos, the patron of the Lemnos Gallipoli Commemorative Committee is also a supporter.
Well done Peter - we wish you well with this worthy new project.
This project joins that of the recently announced new Major George Devine Treloar Memorial to be erected in Ballarat's Sturt Street avenue of commemorative statues.
Below is reproduced their appeal booklet, which includes a donation form - donations over $2 are tax deductible.
You can contact the Committee on 5337 1111
