Totally and Permanently Incapacitated Ex-Servicemen & Women of Victoria
Totally and Permanently Incapacitated Ex-Servicemen & Women of Victoria (or TPI Victoria Inc.) was established over 90 years ago to ensure that all returned soldiers who have suffered chronic, permanent or other war caused disabilities are supported and receive the TPI rate – a compensatory payment for those who have negligible earning capacity due to their injuries.
TPI Victoria Inc. receive no government funding and are reliant on membership fees and fundraisers to continue their work.
TPI Victoria Inc. has over 4000 members who rely on their services. The numbers of younger people who need their services is unfortunately growing.
TPI Victoria Inc. provide much needed support for all returned soldiers and their families, advocating on their behalf in regard to entitlements, support, access to fair and reasonable compensation for their wounds, for being injured and in some cases suffering the life long effects of ‘just doing their job’.
“ If it wasn’t for TPI Victoria Inc. I would not have had a father. ” — Son of returned solider
“ TPI Victoria Inc is always there. TPI Volunteers attend Ward 17 on a weekly basis and interact with staff and patients, and is an invaluable service. Over the years donations have been received from the Association and this has enabled the purchase of essential equipment. A friendly face visiting in the Ward by a TPI Representative, a Veteran, who fully understands the patient situation cannot have a value placed on it: it is immense and appreciated by all. ” — Robert Winther OAM JP FRVAHJ Veteran Liaison Officer Austin Health - Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital
